THE Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani met with their excellencies chairman, vice-chairman and members of the Central Municipal Council (CMC) at the Emiri Diwan in Doha on Sunday.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani.
At the meeting, the Council members expressed their thanks and gratitude to HH the Emir for the meeting and the continuous support which plays a major role in the Council's current and previous terms to voice the citizens' comments, and issues from different electoral districts, assuring the Council will continue to do its' utmost to serve the community.
HH the Emir said that the Council plays a major role in representing the Qatari society from all across the State, highlighting its importance in the urban, civil and demographic development. HH the Emir confirmed the significance of cooperating with all officials and taking the citizens' opinion into consideration in order to contribute to Qatar's development and guarantee the maintenance of the identity and the representation of the citizens and the maturity of the elections.
HH the Emir wished the Council members success in their mission.
