The 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards 2017 is being held in Mumbai on tonight (Saturday, January 14) at the NSCI Dome in Worli and the Filmfare 2017 winners list is being shared live on Twitter by the film magazine. The Instagram and Twitter of Filmfare are abuzz with red carpet pictures and videos of the Filmfare Awards 2017, live as it happens. And we share with you that the blockbuster of the year 2016, Aamir Khan’s film Dangal has won major Filmfare awards at the 2017 night! While earlier action Director Sham Kaushal bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Action for the amazing wrestling bouts that we all so loved watching in Dangal, Nitesh Tiwari bagged the Best Director Filmfare trophy for Dangal. But the icing on the cake was when Dangal took home the coveted Best Film trophy by Filmfare, and Aamir Khan was honoured with the Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Actor (Male) for Dangal, taking the film’s tally to four! The Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Actor (Female) went to Alia Bhatt for Udta Punjab for her very real performance.
The Filmfare Technical Awards are usually held before the main awards ceremony. The other Filmfare Awards 2017 winners announced so far include the Filmfare Award for Best Background Score to Sameer Uddin for Kapoor & Sons, the Filmfare Award for Best Choreography also for Kapoor & Sons which went to Adil Shaikh for the popular song Kar gayi chul, and the Filmfare Award for Best Cinematography that went to Mitesh Mirchandani for the Sonam Kapoor biopic Neerja. The Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Editing was also won by Neerja (Monisha R Baldawa), while the third Filmfare Award 2017 for Neerja came for Best Production Design (Aparna Sud and Anna Ipe). The fourth Neerja Filmfare Award 2017 was bagged by the versatile Shabana Azmi for the Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Female). And finally, Sonam Kapoor won the Filmfare Critics’ Award For Best Actor (Female) for Neerja! This is the movie’s fifth Filmfare Award, and the sixth trophy for the film was won by its producer Atul Kasbekar and director Ram K Madhvani, as Neerja bagged the 2017 Filmfare Critics’ Award For Best Film! The 2017 Filmfare Critics’ Award For Best Actor (Male) is shared between Shahid Kapoor for Udta Punjab and Manoj Bajpayee for Aligarh.

Rishi Kapoor was honoured with the Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Male) for Kapoor & Sons, the movie’s third Filmfare award for this season. The Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Debut (Female) went to Ritika Singh for the R Madhavan film Saala Khadoos, while actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh was honoured with the Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Debut (Male) for Udta Punjab. Ashwiny Iyer took home the Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Debut Director for the Swara Bhaskar-starrer Nil Battey Sannata. The Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Sound Design went to Vivek Sachidanand for the film Phobia, while the Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Costume went to Payal Saluja for Udta Punjab. Shah Rukh Khan‘s FAN wins the Filmfare Award 2017 for Best VFX (for his company Redchillies VFX). Salman Khan’s film Sultan won its first Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Playback (Female) or Neha Bhasin (the Jag ghoomeya song). Ranbir Kapoor film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil got its first Filmfare Award 2017 for Arijit Singh – Best Playback (Male) for the title song. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil won three more awards – the Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Music Album for Pritam, the Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Lyrics for the song Channa mereya penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the 2017 Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent to Amit Mishra for the soulful song Bulleya.
The Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Dialogue went to Ritesh Shah for Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Pink. Kapoor & Sons won two more awards – the Filmfare Award 2017 for Best Story and Best Screenplay (both to Shakun Batra and Ayesha Devitre) – taking its total to five Filmfare trophies this year. Veteran Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha has been honoured with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award 2017. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar fans are miffed that their hero has not been nominated this year for the Best Actor’s by Filmfare, in spite of good performances in movies like Airlift and Rustom in 2016.
