I eat beef and pork but I am a real Hindu: Justice Markandey Katju

Justice Katju talks about how he is a real Hindu and knows more about the religion than 'so called Hindu organisation'.

New Delhi, Jan 15: Known for his hard hitting statements and his views expressed on his blog, Justice Markandey Katju in his latest blog talks about Hinduism and despite eating beef and pork and being an atheist, Justice Katju in his blog writes about how he is a real Hindu and knows more about the religion than ‘so called Hindus, and organizations and parties which claim to represent Hindus, but really know little or nothing about Hinduism.’

Although I eat beef ( and pork ) and am an atheist, I am a strong champion of Sanskrit and the Hindu Nyaya philosophy.
Most Hindus, and most members of organizations and parties who claim to represent Hindus, have little or no idea of the great Hindu intellectualism of the past, and of the real great intellectual achievements of our ancestors, and instead make false boasts e.g. that there were atom bombs, guided missiles, aeroplanes etc in ancient India or that Hindus discovered head transplant and genetic engineering…
Thus, I am a real Hindu, rather than these so called Hindus, and organizations and parties which claim to represent Hindus, but really know little or nothing about Hinduism.

Justice Katju was in controversies over the remarks on certain blogs written by him on the Soumya rape-murder case. Justice Markandey Katju had to submit unconditional apology over the remarks he made after which the apex court dropped the contempt proceedings against the former Supreme Court judge.
