Eredivise round-up: PSV go level with second-place Ajax

PSV Eindhoven moved level on points with second-placed Ajax as they beat Excelsior 2-0 at Philips Stadion.

The home side took the lead on 34 minutes through a close-range strike from Marco van Ginkel.

Midfielder Davy Propper added a second for PSV just before the hour after a swift counter attack.

Groningen ran out 4-1 winners at Heracles Almelo.

Mimoun Mahi opened the scoring on the half hour with a close-range chip.

Defender Desevio Payne and then forward Alexander Sorloth added two more in the next 10 minutes.

Mahi got his second three minutes from time, with Daryl van Mieghem netting a last-minute consolation for the shell-shocked hosts.
