Five packets of heroin, weighing about four kg and valued at Rs 5 crore in the international market, were seized and eight peddlers were arrested near Barmer on Saturday.
As much as 423 gram of heroin was also recovered from the house of one of the accused Dosu.
Those arrested were identified as Nursah, Dosu, Arbu Khan, Kalu Khan, Shareef Khan, Haneef Khan, Rahmatullah, and Jetaram under charged under the NDPS act.
About 4 kg 440 gram heroin was recovered from an SUV, while 423 grams was recovered from the house of the accused.
A high-level probe has begun to find out the international link in drug trafficking as Pakistan is very close by on the border, Superintendent of Police Barmer Dr Gagandeep Singla said.
