Diego Costa's Chelsea team-mates are urging the striker to apologise for his role in a bust-up with coaching staff on the back of a reported monster offer from a Chinese club.

According to The Telegraph, Cesc Fabregas and John Terry are working hard behind the scenes to keep Costa at Stamford Bridge despite interest from Asia.

The newspaper also reports that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte shouted 'go to China' at Costa at the end of an angry confrontation. Costa was made train on his own after a disagreement with a Chelsea fitness coach, with the forward subsequently being dropped for today's Premier League trip to Leicester City in which leaders Chelsea are looking to bounce back from the defeat by Tottenham that ended their 13-game winning run.

Tianjin Quanjian, who have signed Belgium midfielder Axel Witsel, are in the market for a striker and have been linked with an £80m bid for Costa, as well as an offer of a £30m annual salary.

The Spain international has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 14 league goals in 19 games.
