Mumbai Police will be issuing permission to Sunburn's event, at which DJ David Guetta is to perform, at Bandra-Kurla Complex in the city on Sunday. "Mumbai Police is issuing permission to tomorrow's Sunburn programme at the same venue in BKC," said DCP and Mumbai Police PRO, Ashok Dudhe.

A day after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) denied permission for the 'Sunburn Arena' event that was to be organised at Mahalaxmi Racecourse on Friday, the Mumbai Police too had rejected permission for Sunburn's programme at Jio Garden in BKC citing non-completion of mandatory requirements and legal formalities.

Deputy commissioner of Police, Zone VIII, Virendra Mishra on Friday had said, “No legal formalities were completed and compulsory requirement were met by the organisers because of which we did not give permission to hold the event.”

DCP Mishra said that in order to host such mega events, permission from various departments was required. “Permissions needs to be taken from various agencies, including BMC, PWD, Collector, Traffic, local police, and from excise department, if liquor is being served."

On Thursday, the 49-year-old DJ's concert in Bengaluru was cancelled over concerns about law and order.
