Delh fog: 25 trains delayed, 6 running behind schedule, 8 cancelled as visibility remains poor

In other reports, 6 trains have been rescheduled and 8 have been cancelled. The fog has hampered Railways in Delhi and well as in Ludhiana.

Delh fog: 25 trains delayed, 6 running behind schedule, 8 cancelled as visibility remains poor

New Delhi, Jan 14: Witnessing a thick blanket of fog in the capital city Delhi, 25 trains are reported to have delayed. In other reports, 6 trains have been rescheduled and 8 have been cancelled. The fog has hampered Railways in Delhi and well as in Ludhiana.

Few trains were delayed by more than 10 hours and most affected trains are those coming to and from Delhi. The cancelled trains are; New Delhi-Jalandhar City Express, Anandpur Sahib Amritsar, Chandigarh-Varanasi, New Delhi -Katpadi, Haridwar-Amritsar Jan Shatabdi Express and Patna-Mumbai CST.

On Tuesday, 10 trains were cancelled and 19 trains were delayed due to low visibility in Ludhiana. Several parts of north India have been facing chilly weather due to heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and according to Met department; these three regions will again witness snowfall due to western- disturbance.

The same is the case with domestic and international flights. Few days back, an Air Indian flight AI-435 was diverted to Nagpur due to heavy fog. The flight was scheduled to land in Bhopal early Monday morning, January 9. It was travelling from Delhi to Bhopal. 6 International and 7 domestic flights too were delayed the same day due to fog and 41 trains were reported to be arriving late. 9 were rescheduled, and 3 were cancelled due to heavy fog.
