Secular parties failed to stop Modi: Owaisi

January 14, 2017 12:55 am | Updated 01:04 am IST - Meerut:

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Mulsimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday hit out at the “brigade of secular parties” for calling him communal and said that “had they been sincere, Narendra Modi would not have become the Prime Minister”.

“Had you been competent, and had you wanted and had you had some planning then the BJP would not have got so many seats. But you were only bothered about power,” he said.

While addressing people in Kairana which was in controversy due to alleged forced exodus, he alleged that more than 12,000 major and minor communal incidents took place during Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s tenure.
