VIP guests at digi-pay fair, tight security with CCTVs
Bokaro: Security has been tightened at Sector-V Library Ground as the town is gearing up for the DigiDhan Mela, organized by the district administration on the directives of Niti Aayog, to be held on Saturday.
DC Rai Mahimapat Ray reviewed the arrangements on Friday evening and gave necessary directions to the officials. He also held meetings with traders, shopkeepers and businessmen who are putting up a stall at the fair.
At least 150 stalls will be set up at the fair to promote cashless transactions.
This is the first time that a fair is being organized during the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti in the city and the administration believes that the venue will receive a footfall of over 15,000 people. Many dignitaries of the centre and state, including the CM Raghubar Das will attend the function to promote cashless economy.
SP Y S Ramesh said the DSPs and officers in-charge have been asked to ensure that the security arrangements at the fair are foolproof. “We have installed CCTVs at important locations. Dhanbad police and JAP have deployed around 250 personnels in and around the venue, along with policemen in civil dress,” he added.
