Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections: Deal sealed between Congress, Samajwadi Party and RLD?

New Delhi: With Uttar Pradesh assembly elections around the corner and the prolonged rift in the Samajwadi Party, the relations between Congress and UP CM Akhilesh’s camp are getting strengthened. According to the sources, the deal has been almost sealed between Congress, Akhilesh and RLD for forming an alliance in Uttar Pradesh. As per sources, out of the total 430 setas, Congress and Akhilesh have so far agreed on giving 90 seats to Congress; but the party is seeking atleast 100 seats. On the other hand Akhilesh and RLD have so far settled with 20 seats to RLD, but the party is demanding 26 seats. Election Commission on Friday could also do a hearing on Mulayam’s and Akhilesh’s case, where both are staking a claim of the party symbol- cycle. However, Congress hasn’t confirmed the news as yet. While commenting on the speculation over the alliance formation with SP and RLD, Congress leader Akhilesh Pratap Singh told ABP News, “we are prepared and capable of forming a government single handedly as well. He added saying that “we are ready to fight for all 430 seats”. It is also being said that the relation building between Congress and Samajwadi’s Akhilesh camp has strengthened so much that he called Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and wished her on her birthday on Thursday.
