Lewandowski joins upstart conservative network

Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, has taken a new job as a political commentator at the conservative One America News Network, The Daily Beast reported Thursday.

The former GOP political operative started his new role last week, the network’s CEO, Robert Herring, told The Daily Beast.

Lewandowski was ousted as Trump’s campaign manager in June, before being hired as a political commentator at CNN. But he quit that job just days after Trump won the presidential election and was rumored to be up for a key role in the new administration.

{mosads}Lewandowski was never offered a White House job, and instead opened a D.C.-based consulting firm billed as an outside support network for the Trump administration. His new role at One America News Network will be in tandem with his consulting work.

“We got a lot of help from him in the past, and he seems like very nice guy and very knowledgeable,” Herring told The Daily Beast. “You know, we’re a growing network, and we saw a chance when he quit CNN and we just grabbed it.”

During Trump’s press conference Wednesday — his first in nearly six months — the president-elect called on One America News Network and fellow conservative outlet Breitbart News to ask questions.
