Cash seizure at Soudha: HC asks for report in eight weeks

During the arguments, the state public prosecutor appealed to the court to give some time to complete the investigation.

BENGALURU: The High Court on Wednesday directed the CID to file a final report in eight weeks before the jurisdictional court with regard to unaccounted cash worth Rs 1.98 crore which was allegedly seized from the car of advocate H M Siddartha in the Vidhana Soudha premises in October last year.

Justice Anand Byrareddy passed the interim order while asking the investigating agency to take the permission of the court in case it wants to further interrogate Siddhartha, son of a former district judge.

During the arguments, the state public prosecutor appealed to the court to give some time to complete the investigation, saying that Siddhartha was giving different replies.

The counsel for Siddhartha argued that the investigating agency has still not made a case against the accused as mentioned in the FIR registered on October 21, 2016, though he was interrogated many times.
