BENGALURU: THE Devanahalli traffic police on Wednesday caught a vehicle that has 48 cases pending against it. Officials said, (KA43 Q4174), which had 48 pending cases, was penalised and a fine of Rs 5,200 was collected. Officials said most violations are related to riding without helmet.

Traffic officials said they have uploaded a list of 500 vehicles that have multiple cases pending (41 to 195 violations) on its website. “We have found that several vehicle owners have committed traffic offences and they have not paid the fine. If the amount is not received, further legal action will be initiated,” said a senior traffic police official.

Sources said these vehicle owners may not be aware about these violations as they may have changed the addresses so they may not be receiving the challans from the traffic police. Some may have sold their vehicles without changing the registration of the vehicles.
