'Didn't have money to produce Fandry: Anurag Kashyap
After a highly acclaimed season one of 'Casting Couch with Amey and Nipun', the crazy duo of Amey Wagh and Nipun Dharmadhikari is back with a bang, literally.
While the first season saw guests like Nagraj Manjule, Sai Tamhankar, Radhika Apte, Priya Bapat, Mahesh Manjrekar and Shriya Pilganonkar 'gracing' the couch, the first episode of the second season saw 'Gangs of Wasseypur' director Anurag Kashyap making an entry.
After the customary exchange of 'pleasantries' on the show, Amey and Nipun went on to grill Anurag with questions ranging from Pahlaj Nihalani to whether he would be directing a Marathi film soon, considering he has already produced one. When the duo asked Anurag if he watches Marathi films, the latter spelled out a list of films that he has seen. One of those happened to be Nagraj Manjule's 'Fandry'. At this point, Anurag said something that not many might know about. "I wanted to produce Nagraj's 'Fandry'. Unfortunately, I didn't have money then," said Anurag, who has produced the Punarvasu Naik's Marathi film 'Vakratunda Mahaakaaya'.

As per the format of the show, the hosts also tried to extract something controversial from the director but he refused to bite the bait. Not even his legendary run-ins with the censor board and its chairman Pahlaj Nihalani were brought up.
