Rudy and Smriti in Gujarat attack Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on Modi

Gandhinagar: Two ‘firebrand’ BJP leaders and union ministers Smriti Irani and Rajiv Pratap Rudy today attacked Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for his recent scathing remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While Union Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani said that in the wake of frustration caused by continuous defeat of Congress in recent elections Rahul was trying to save his legacy by attacking the prime minister, Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy alleged that the Congress vice-president seems disconnected with the ongoing developments in the nation as he was on a vacation.

The two ministers were here to participate in the ongoing Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit at Mahatma Mandir.

Rahul had yesterday during his party’s working committee meeting at New Delhi had alleged that the Prime Minister has in the last two years destroyed and ruined institutions like RBI that were built over many years through his personal decision of note ban. He had termed it as the worst decision in the country’s history and went on to say that Congress would bring ‘Achchhe Din’ for the country after winning 2019 general elections.

Talking to newsmen here Irani said that Rahul was frustrated owing to continuous defeats of his party in recent elections. ‘The win of BJP in various elections after demonetization shows that the support and blessings of the people of the country is with Modi ji. Rahul ji seems to be frustrated and it is natural for him to issue such statements to somehow save his ‘legacy’, she said.

Irani lauded the development of Gujarat, the home state of Modi, where she said that MoU’s regarding 8835 crores investment in textile sector of the state were singed in front of her during Vibrant Gujarat summit today and questioned the plight of Rahul’s constituency Amethi in Uttar Pradesh where according to her no development has taken place.

Rudy on the other hand said that Rahul was disturbed at the immensely popular steps of Prime Minister Modi.

He said that the nation after a long time was seeing all round development and work for all sections of the society under Modi ji’s leadership that all sections of the society and Rahul Gandhi seemed to be disturbed at it.

Rudy said that Rahul also seemed to be disconnected with the developments ‘back home’ owing to his long vacation abroad.
