TV tonight: 'Great Indoors,' 'Colony' returns
The Great Indoors
CBS, 8:30 ET/PT
Tony winner Barry Bostwick guest stars as the president of the Chicago Adventure Society, who accuses Stephen Fry’s Roland of making up the expedition story that launched his career. This show has its problems, but any episode that focuses on Fry and brings in Bostwick is an episode worth considering. You can always bail if that advice turns out to be short-sighted.

In September, a wide range of dignitaries, athletes and entertainers gathered at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the opening of the Smithsonian’s new National Museum of African American History and Culture. Thursday, ABC airs a 2-hour version of that celebration, which is scheduled to include appearances by Oprah Winfrey, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Shirley Caesar, Patti Austin, Angela Bassett, Octavia Spencer and the Alvin Ailey dancers, among many others. Along with music, dance, and spoken-word tributes, you’ll also get to see items from the museum’s collection.
