KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here today fixed three days from Feb 7 to hear a case involving a farmer charged with giving support to a terror group.
Judicial Commissioner Datuk Ab Karim Ab Rahman set the dates after deputy public prosecutor Mohamad Mustaffa P. Kunyalam, who prosecuted, informed the court that documents on the case had been submitted to the defence.
Mohamad Mustaffa said he would call 10 witnesses to testify in the hearing of the case involving Zairosfitri Jainuddin Azhar, 24, who is represented by lawyer Ahmad Zaharil Muhaiyar.
On Dec 16 last year, Zairosfitri pleaded not guilty to a charge of giving support to a terror group by taking the pledge (bai'ah) through the Telegram application in a chat group "gagak hitam" at No 11, Block A, Public Housing 2, Chenderiang, Batang Padang, Perak, between March 25, 2016 and June 17, 2016.
The charge, under Section 130J (1)(a) of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for life, or not more than 30 years, or fine, and is liable to forfeiture of any property used in the commission of the offence, if found guilty. — Bernama
