KCTC eased to a seven-wicket win over Cannon Cricket Club after restricting the opponents to 111-5. KCTC cantered to victory against a wayward Cannon side, who conceded 26 extras, reaching 114-3 in just 15 overs.
Sanjay Basnet top scored for KCTC scoring a quickfire 42 not out from 28 balls with five boundaries. Aadil Khan made 12, while Bipin Acharya, Sumit Maharjan and Bibek Rana Magar chipped in 11 runs each. Dilip Jaiswal took two wickets for Cannon.
Cannon’s innings was built around a 46-ball 38 from Suman Thakur who hit four boundaries and a six. They collected 27 runs from extras, while Bhuwan Basnet was the next best contributor with 15 runs. Sumit Jha and Dilip Yadav took two wickets each for KCTC.
In the second match of the day, Royal PC Fighter defeated Khahare Cricket Club by six wickets. Khahare could only manage 115-7 after Surendra Chand and Dhiraj Shahi picked up two wickets each. Royal PC Fighter reached 117-4 in just 12.2 overs on the back of an unbeaten half century from Rabin Joshi who was also involved in two big partnerships that eased their chase.
Joshi shared 48 runs for the first wicket with Dhan Bahadur Karki (23) and 56 runs for the second with Bijay Sunar, the No 3 batsman making 29 off 24 with four hits to the fence and a six. Joshi hit a 30-ball 56 with his unbeaten innings including seven fours and three sixes.
Earlier, Amrith Thapa was the top scorer for Khahare scoring run-a-ball 26 with two sixes. Anil Thapa (23), Roshan Pulami (22) and Krishna Adhikari (20) were other batsman to make runs in double figures.
