JAIPUR: Three people, including the priest of famous
Brahma Temple in Pushkar, died after a car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary water tanker near Dudu town on Jaipur-Ajmer highway.
According to police, Mahant Somgiri, along with two others, was on his way back to Pushkar from Jaipur when their car rammed into a water tanker that was watering plants on the road divider.
“Two people died on the spot while one succumbed to his injury in hospital. The deceased were identified as Mahant Somgiri, Vijay Laxmi and Lakshmi Narayan,” said a senior police officer of Dudu.
Expressing grief on the death of Brahma Temple’s priest, chief minister Vasundhara Raje tweeted, “Deeply saddened by the news of passing away of
Poojya Somgiri Ji Maharaj in a road mishap.”
