Prosecute BJP leader, says CPI(ML) Red Flag

January 12, 2017 08:53 am | Updated 08:53 am IST - KOZHIKODE:

The CPI(ML) Red Flag has urged the State government to prosecute BJP leader A.N. Radhakrishnan for his hate attack on film-maker and Kerala Chalachithra Academy Chairman Kamal.

P.C. Unnickekkan, party secretary, said in a statement that Mr. Radhakrishanan’s remark that Mr. Kamal could go to Pakistan was a criminal offence as it amounted to spreading communal hatred. The attack on Mr. Kamal was part of the Sangh Parivar’s plot to target artists, writers and cultural activists whose views were unhelpful to the Hindutva ideology.

Mr. Unnicheckkan recalled how the Sangh Parivar had demanded the deportation of the well-known Kannada and English writer U.R. Ananthamurthy. The actual target of the propaganda against Mr. Kamal on the false allegation of disrespect to the national flag was the propagation of violent hostility towards the religion to which he was born.
