We’ve all shouted answers at the screen, been shocked at how a contestant knew an answer or, alternatively, appalled at how they didn’t.

But when you switch the channel to Jeopardy! on Jan. 17, don’t try to prove your intelligence to your indifferent family; root for the hometown gal instead.

“I was nervous, but when it came down to it, I wasn’t as nervous as I thought,” Jeopardy! contestant and Denver resident Andrea Keppers said. “It was actually a really fun experience.”

Keppers is a history educator with Jefferson County Open Space, Parks and Trails and has a master’s degree in art history. Although she didn’t study ahead of the show, Keppers said she a voracious reader and consumer of culture. She said she has a mind for trivia and has some past experience at local bar-trivia competitions, such as Geeks Who Drink.

She first took Jeopardy!’s online screening test in the fall of 2014. She later was selected for an in-person test. She didn’t hear anything for quite some time and nearly gave up hope, but then the show called, telling her she made it.

Will Keppers beat the competition? You’ll have to tune into Fox31 at 6 p.m. at to find out.
