“Though the neighbours, who rushed to the house after hearing the cries of the mother, took the girl to a nearby hospital, she was declared brought dead,” the police said adding that the girl was supposed to go to the college on Wednesday to pay fees.  The girl’s father is working abroad.

The body has been shifted to Pariyaram Medical College for post-mortem examination. The police suspect it to be a case of suicide.
