RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Former Porto and Brazil international midfielder Carlos Alberto is set to join Brazilian Serie A club Atletico Paranaense, according to media reports.
The 32-year-old has agreed personal terms and underwent a medical at Atletico's headquarters in Curitiba on Wednesday, Uol Esporte reported.
Alberto is a free agent after parting ways with Figueirense in September.
Capped five times for Brazil, Alberto played a key role in Jose Mourinho's Porto side that won the 2004 Champions League.
The then 19-year-old scored the opening goal of the final against Monaco, which Porto won 3-0 in Gelsenkirchen. Enditem
