January 12, 2017 01:11 am | Updated 01:11 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A woman who had gone missing from AIIMS on Tuesday was found near Deer Park in Hauz Khas a day later, but the mystery behind her disappearance remained unsolved as the woman claimed she had fallen unconscious after leaving the hospital.

‘Police inaction’

Rashmi Rekha Acharya (52) had minor injuries. Her family members blamed the police for not making any serious effort to trace her.

Rashmi, a brain tumour patient, came to the Capital with her husband to consult a neurosurgeon at AIIMS. On Tuesday, she disappeared from the ground floor of the hospital when her husband went to finish some pending formalities.

“We went to the Hauz Khas Police station, but the officers there did not provide much help....,” said Sushree Acharya, her niece.

The family received a call on Wednesday morning from a passerby who said Rashmi was sitting in front of the deer park in Hauz Khas. She was then rushed to AIIMS where she was referred to the trauma centre.
