Firing in TMC office in Kharagpur: Two dead, five injured

It is reported that out of the five injured, some have suffered bullet injuries to their stomach.

Firing in TMC office in Kharagpur: Two dead, five injured

Kolkata, Jan 11: Four unidentified gunmen opened fire at the  Trinamool Congress Party’s office of Kharagpur, West Midnapore district of West Bengal. In the incident, five people got injured out of which two have been declared dead. The health of other injured people is reported to remain in a serious condition. The Kharagpur police have rushed to the spot and has begun searching the unidentified gunmen.

After the unidentified gunmen opened fire, the injured were rushed to the Kharagpur subdivisional hospital and Kharagpur rail hospital. It has been reported that out of the five injured, some have suffered injuries to their stomach whereas one of them is reported to suffer a head injury.

Trinamool Congress Party has been into controversies after CBI had issued summons to two Trinamool Congress MPs, Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Tapas Paul in connection with Rose Valley scam. Both the TMC leaders were asked to appear at the CBI office here on December 30. Soon after, the actor-turned MP Tapas Pal was arrested by the CBI on December 30.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers on Wednesday blocked the Rajdhani Express at New Cooch Behar Railway Station in protest against TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay’s arrest. In another mass protest today, TMC leaders in Delhi protested against the government’s demonetization drive. These workers marched towards President House to meet him regarding the same.

Addressing a rally on Wednesday evening, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attacked on Narendra Modi. She stated that “We are not afraid of rioters, Modi babu. He has not taken any lessons from Godhra riots”.

Trinamool Congress have been protesting against the demonetisation scheme of Narendra Modi and several protests has been carried out by the party in Kolkata as well as in New Delhi.
