India's batting lineup was a formidable one, but Dravid was the backbone of the team and was famously known as 'The Wall' for his own reasons.

Dravid made his Test debut at Lord's in 1996 and was impressive in his first outing. He made 95 in his debut innings while the other debutant Ganguly went onto score a hundred.

While consistent performances made him a permanent member in India's Test squad, it took him 15 innings to breach the three-figure mark when he struck 148 against South Africa in Johannesburg on 16 January, 1997.

Dravid's record as a batsman are just fabulous. While consistency was key to his success in Test cricket, Dravid stood out when the India's Fab Five played together in whites.

The famous five played 42 Tests together, 'The Wall' had bettered others in terms of batting average and number of centuries scored.

He retired after scoring 24,208 international runs from 164 Tests, 344 ODIs and one T20I.
