NEET 2017: How many total medical seats are available in All India Quota and State Quota

There are a total of approximately 426 MBBS Colleges which include AIIMS and JIPMER. While there are a total of approximately 63835 medical seats which are available for aspirants who clear the NEET exam 2017.

NEET 2017: How many total medical seats are available in All India Quota and State Quota

The notification for NEET 2017 is expected to come out any day now at the official website of CBSE AIPMT. The exam is conducted for those students who wish to pursue MBBS and BDS course. It is important that the aspirants to know about the total number of seats available. There are a total of approximately 426  MBBS Colleges which include AIIMS and JIPMER. While there are a total of approximately  63835 medical seats. It is also important for the aspirants to note that there are some colleges which are recognized for 150 seats. After which they are permitted for renewal of permission for increase of seats from 150 to 200 for 2016-17. There are certain colleges which have been permitted for renewal of permission u/s 10(A) for 2015-16. Check the State and Category Wise No. of Seats for All India Quota in Government Medical Colleges.

Aspirants are also required to note that common counselling will only be held for 15% All India Quota Seats. Aspirants are required to note that the display of newly added/vacant seats & also of anticipated vacancies (seats likely to be available after the conversion of Vacant Seats in category/subcategory and up-gradation of previously allotted seats with newly offered seats). Aspirants are required to enter their earlier choices which have been submitted by the candidate and which will be treated null and void. Aspirants are also required to note that the fresh choices submission for seat allotment in 2nd round is mandatory.

Under the counselling scheme for NEET UG, certain important points have to be kept in mind. Candidates who have been allotted seats will be required to join the allotted college/course within the stipulated time which is mentioned in counseling schedule. It is important for the aspirants to join as early as possible and not to wait for last day of joining, due to different schedule of holiday (including local holidays) / working hours in various Medical / Dental Colleges.In some of the colleges/ universities. It is clearly mentioned that for the candidates, 2-3 days’ time is required to complete admission formalities. Candidates will need to contact allotted college immediately after declaration of result of counseling allotment process, to know the details. If candidate fails to join the allotted Medical/Dental College within stipulated time, then the allotted seat will be cancelled and candidate will not be eligible for further Round(s) of the online Counseling.
