Southern Railway to run special trains for Pongal and Sabari festivals

MADURAI: Southern Railway will operate Suvidha special trains between Chennai and Tirunelveli and a special fare special between Madurai and Vijayawada for Pongal and Sabari festivals to clear the extra rush of traffic.
According to a statement, train no. 82603 Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli Suvidha special will leave Chennai Egmore at 9.05pm on January 12 and reach Tirunelveli at 10.45am the next day.Train no. 82604 Tirunelveli – Chennai Egmore Suvidha special will leave Tirunelveli at 2.45pm on January 16 and reach Chennai Egmore at 3.45am the next day. These trains will have 1 AC 2-tier, 4 AC 3-tier and 11 sleeper class coaches. They will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar and Kovilpatti. Train no. 82604 will stop at Mambalam also.
Train no. 06069 Madurai – Vijayawada special fare special will leave Madurai at 5.50pm on January 14 and reach Vijayawada at 3.30am on January 16. The train will have 2 AC 3-tier and 13 sleeper class coaches. The train will stop at Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil Town, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kayankulam, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Tiruttani, Renigunta, Srikalahasti, Venkatagiri, Gudur, Nellore, Kavali, Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla, Nidubrolu and Tenali. Advance reservations for the above trains will commence on January 10, Tuesday, the statement said.
