Mumbai: Rani Mukerji is a hands-on mother to daughter Adira, who was born on December 9, 2015. The Bengali beauty, who is married to Yash Raj scion Aditya Chopra, was last seen in ‘Mardaani’. And now, going by the latest buzz, it seems that Mrs Chopra is all set for a comeback after attaining motherhood.
According to a report in DNA After Hrs , Rani will return to the silverscreen with Siddharth P Malhotra’s untitled flick.
“Initially, Emraan Hashmi was to produce the film and also act in it. However, for some reason, he let go of the project and turned producer with another film. Siddharth approached Abhishek Bachchan next, but he kept dilly-dallying. And now, it is being produced by YRF with Rani as the central character,” DNA After Hrs quoted a source as saying.
Rani and Adi liked the script and the latter wanted the script to be modified a bit to fit a female protagonist.
The film will reportedly see the protagonist fighting a disability. Rani, who is an extremely talented actress, has done challenging roles in the past. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’ was one such film that redefined her acting prowess completely.
However, there has been no official word regarding Rani’s comeback venture.
