MUMBAI: The Bombay high court, on Tuesday, rapped BJP MLA from Thane Sanjay Kelkar for moving the court with a PIL seeking criminal action against the management and principals of unaided engineering across Maharashtra without first approaching the police.
A bench headed by Justice Abhay Oka heard PIL filed by Citizen Forum for Sanctity in Educational System through Kelkar.
The PIL alleged that those 346 colleges submitted false, fabricated and bogus information online showing compliance of AICTE norms to get extension of approvals every year.
The judges asked why “due process of law’’ was not followed. His lawyer said that Kelkar had not raised the issue with the police and other authorities in his capacity as MLA. TNN
