PODGORICA (Montenegro), January 10 (SeeNews) – Household electricity consumption in Montenegro rose by 25.8% month-on-month to 132.7 million kWh in December, according to figures posted on the website of the country's power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) on Tuesday.
On a year-on-year basis, household electricity consumption was up 10.8% in December, figures show.
The average monthly household electricity bill in Montenegro was 43.01 euro ($45.60) last month, versus 34 euro in November.
The highest average monthly electricity bill, 54.94 euro, was paid by households in Kotor, while the lowest one, 20.86 euro, was registered in the town of Zabljak.
EPCG, which operates over 870 MW of installed capacity, registered the highest daily consumption for the month on December 21, when it came in at 9,072 MWh.
The power utility's net profit rose to 13.7 million euro in the first half of 2016, from 11.8 million euro a year earlier, according to the latest available data from the company.
The Montenegrin government is the majority owner of EPCG with a 57% stake. Italian company A2A owns 41.75%.
