AURANGABAD: A 21-year-old youth, Bhagwat Ganpat Kamble, has been recently sentenced to three-year rigorous imprisonment for harassing a minor girl in Naigaon village in July 2014.
Sessions judge of Biloli from Nanded district, Anand Patil, also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him. In case of default, Kamble would have to undergo three-month additional imprisonment.
Kamble was booked under section 354 (molestation) and under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Prosecution lawyer D V Kulkarni, said that the 16-year-old survivor had gone to her farm located at the village outskirts with her mother on July 23, 2014.
Her mother had left the minor girl alone in a shed to finish some other work.
Finding the girl alone, Kamble entered the cow shed. The accused then tried to force himself on her. The girl, however, raised an alarm.Hearing this, her mother and other villagers rushed and saw Kamble fleeing the spot.
On questioning, the survivor narrated the sequence of event.
Subsequently, the victim’s father lodged a complaint with the police.

Police sub-inspector Rahul Wagh, arrested Kamble under section 345 and also under provisions of the Prevention of children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
After investigating into the case, PSI Wagh submitted a chargesheet against Kamble before the Biloli Sessions court.
The court also directed that the fine amount be given to the survivor.
