Security Forces Kill One Terrorist After Attack On GREF Camp In J&K, Encounter Still Underway

One terrorist has been killed in an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora on Tuesday morning.

The encounter began after the security forces, acting upon specific inputs on terrorist presence conducted a raid in  Hajin village of Bandipora. The Rashtriya Rifles team came under gunfire from the militants who were hiding in the village, injuring a security personnel.

"One terrorist has been killed and one soldier has been injured during the gunfight in Bandipora," an army official said.

The identity of the slain terrorist was not clear immediately. The area has been cordoned off and the search operation for more likely terrorists in the area is still on.  

The encounter comes a day after terrorists attacked a GREF camp in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir killing three personnel.
