The Ministry of External Affairs has denied permission for extending the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) to Tuesday. Earlier, following requests from the people, the Ministry of External Affairs and the state government had extended the three-day event by another day.
It was decided that the event would be open for public on January 10. But the ministry denied permission at the last minute citing security reasons and the delegates’ tight schedules, a FICCI official said.
