Kazakhstan, Turkey and Azerbaijan are close partners in the framework of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states.

Kazakh political analyst Dosym Satpayev made the remark while talking to Day.Az, when commenting on Turkey’s aim to create a new tripartite format ‘Azerbaijan-Turkey-Kazakhstan’.

"These three states form the core in the formation of a unified Turkic field. Of course, this includes also Kyrgyzstan. Turkmenistan, for its part, played a role of observer recently. In November last year, President Erdogan paid an official visit to Uzbekistan. It is possible that one of the aims of the visit was to attract Tashkent to this Council," he said.

Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan - the three Turkic countries have formed good bilateral relationships over the recent years, equally benefiting in numerous ways. These relationships are expected to gain further depth and width in the near future after establishment of the tripartite format.

The three countries are also the members of parliamentary union of Turkic-speaking countries TURKPA established in 2008 aiming at expansion political, economical and cultural relations among Turkic-speaking countries.

As for the economic sphere, Satpayev said the three countries also attempt to strengthen cooperation, including opening of new trans-Caspian routes for transportation of goods.

"We know that a trans-logistic consortium with participation of Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and China have already been created. Our countries are closely cooperating within the framework of international structures, or are in close contact with each other on a bilateral basis," he said stressing that countries have no serious tensions, conflicts, contradictions with each other, and have a great desire to find common ground on almost all issues, both in political and in economic segment.

Today, several trilateral formats, such as the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, Azerbaijan-Turkey-Iran and Turkey-Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan exist in the region. Trilateral formats provide strong support for regional development by raising political and economic ties between three countries to a new level, according to experts.

The work is also underway on creation of Azerbaijan-Turkey-Russia format. The idea of creating the tripartite format of Turkey-Azerbaijan- Russia was initiated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the framework of his St. Petersburg meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin last August.
