VIJAYAWADA: Actor and Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan on Saturday welcomed the relief measures announced by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for patients of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in the Uddanam area of Srikakulam district.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan stated on the Twitter that the relief measures for the “victims of destiny” were the first positive steps towards eradication of Nephropathy in the area.

He asserted that it was the social responsibility of all political parties to address the issue and keep up the tempo till it was completely eradicated, and that it should feature in every party’s manifesto.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s response showed that he understood the seriousness of the pain and sufferings of the patients more than Minister from the district K. Atchannaidu, the JSP founder said.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that the civil society, intellectuals, doctors, and activists, especially of the Uttarandhra movement, should keep mounting pressure not only on the Central and State governments but also on the political parties to do their bit to alleviate the suffering of the CKD patients.

“Jana Sena Party will put its best efforts on issues hindering the growth of the Uttarandhra or Kalingandhra region,” he added.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan called on the patients at Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district on January 4 and served a two-day ultimatum on the government to take action lest the JSP should chart its path of agitation.
