PARIS — Lanvin has named Sophie Boilley as its new communications director.
The executive is a 21-year career veteran of Paul Smith, where she first was public relations chief for France then served as the brand’s worldwide head of press and communications for 14 years.
Since leaving Paul Smith in November 2013, Boilley has attended a screenwriting program and written a feature-length film, which she said will “probably” be produced.
“At this house, there’s a new page that needs to be written,” said Boilley. “Working with Bouchra Jarrar on this is, for me, very exciting.”
As reported, Jarrar took the reins as artistic director of the 128-year-old house last March after a career at Balenciaga, Christian Lacroix and her namesake label, which was awarded the official haute couture appellation in 2013.
Lanvin’s previous communications director, Marie-Sabine Leclercq, moved in November to the upscale children’s wear retailer Bonpoint.
