Rock Out To Megadeth & Slipknot In ‘Rock Band 4’s’ 10-Year Anniversary DLC
Arianne Gift2017 marks the tenth year for "Rock Band" and Harmonix has chosen to celebrate the milestone by re-releasing some of the best songs from the game's back catalog as downloadable content for "Rock Band 4." While the game is pretty much swarmed with pop songs, metalheads will be happy to hear the return of Megadeth's "Trust" and Slipknot's "Dead Memories."
A classic track also confirmed for January is "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult, one of the original songs from the first "Rock Band" game. However, the first game is not the only one being tapped for the franchise's tenth anniversary DLC; Harmonix will also pluck hits from its other titles and carry them over to "Rock Band 4."
The second re-release confirmed for January is Kansas' "Carry On Wayward Son," which was part of the tracklist for "Rock Band 2." This song also appeared in "Guitar Hero II," and recently in "Guitar Hero Live."
Before the end of January, "Swing, Swing" by the All-American Rejects will be available for purchase, an iteration from the game's spin-off, "Lego Rock Band." The Harmonix Blog did not include the exact date for the song's release, although the studio said that this week's DLC tracks will be available starting January 5.
For now, metal-lovers might as well raise their devil's horns as the "More Metal Pack 01" makes its way to "Rock Band 4." "The Stage" by Avenged Sevenfold kicks off the game's newest DLC pack, followed by "Dead Memories" by Slipknot and Megadeth's "Trust." Each song is priced $1.99, while the whole pack can purchased for $5.49.
According to GameRant, more songs could be added to the game in celebration of its tenth anniversary. Should Harmonix release three classics each month, we may be seeing about 36 songs over the course of 2017.
"Rock Band 4" is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Here's a preview of what to expect from the DLC:
