The Hon''ble Mr. Jinnah''s Election

A PRESS communique issued at Delhi states as follows:-"The result of the inquiry directed by the Governor-General in Council into the election of the Hon'ble Mr. Mahomed Ali Jinnah to the Imperial Legislative Council has already been notified and he has been declared duly elected. The report of the Inquiring Officer is a confidential document and cannot therefore be published, but the Government of India were satisfied that there was no ground for an imputation with regard to the propriety of the Hon'ble Mr. Jinnah's conduct in connection with his election and that he was fully exonerated form the charges brought against him." Mr. Jinnah's election notification was tantamount to his exoneration from the imputation made against him.
