170 more child workers rescued

A day after 190 child workers were rescued from Pedda Kondur village, the Rachakonda police rescued 170 more from 18 brick kilns under the Bommalaramaram police station limits of Yadadri district. The children working at the brick kilns were aged between 5 and 18 years, with 78 of them below 14 years and 92 between 14 and 18 years.

A case was booked under the IPC and the Child Labour Prohibition Act.

Fire at ATC

A fire broke out near the Air Traffic Control room in the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday night. Three fire-fighters were rushed there to help put out the fire, said a senior official.

The vehicles were sent from the Rajendranagr, Madhapur and Maheshwaram fire stations. The incident took place around 10 p.m. at a godown in the RGIA and no one was injured, added the official.
