Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder’s kids are Hindus or Muslims?

Shirish Kunder gives a befitting reply

If only Shirish Kunder could make movies as meaningful as his recent Tweet, he would have bagged an Oscar or two. Farah Khan’s husband gave a befitting reply to what can be called a dumb question. This is not an innocuous query. actually. The question comes from the deep rooted (and twisted) idea of religion, where everyone must be put into certain boxes. And they must worship a certain god therefore. So it was only natural for us to applaud Shirish Kunder for employing his words judiciously to state this.

When a curious Twitterati asked Kunder if his kids were Hindus or Muslims. (wifey Farah Khan observes Islam and Kunder is a Hindu).  This is what Shirish had to tweet in response. “Depends on which festival is next. Last month, they were Christians.” he stated. What followed were series of positive responses that appreciated Kunder’s ability of saying so much by stating so little. Frankly, we think religion is a private matter and which one an individual follows is none of anybody’s business. In a country where people from different religions exist in harmony and celebrate each other’s festival with pomp and reverence, what religion does a certain individual follow should not be an issue, to begin with. The idea in this land and in this culture is to be a good human being first, what religion he or she follows, is secondary or dare we say absolutely inconsequential. What do you think readers?
