February too has a long weekend! Yay! 24th of February is Mahashivratri, that falls on a Friday, so couple that with Saturday & Sunday and head to Orchha in Madhya Pradesh. This historic temple town is nestled on the banks of river Betwa and seems to have frozen in time, its palaces and temples still retain their original grandeur. February will be a great time to bring out the explorer in you! Go live your childhood fantasies and conquer the Ram Raja Temple, The Orchha Fort, Laxmi Narain Temple, Jahangir Mahal and the famed Chhatris of Orchha. Gwalior is the nearest airport to this medieval town with connecting flights from almost everywhere in the country.
3. Sundarbans in March!

Holi is on 13th of March, that is a Monday, so 11th, 12th and 13th March becomes a long weekend. Then later in the month, if you manage to take just the 27th off, then combining the weekend, that is, 25th, 26th along with 28th march, that is Guddi Padva, will give you a 4 day long weekend! How about the Sundarbans? Kolkata is the nearest airport to Sunderbans National Park, which has the largest concentration of Royal Bengal tigers on the planet and is largely made of semi-submerged mangroves that form the world’s largest river delta.

And then you always have the option of flying off on the long weekend of 13th - 16th, with adjoin holidays of Baisakhi and Good Friday!
