But 2017 seems to be compensating with a lot of festivals falling before or after weekends giving an extended mini vacation. January boasts of a long weekend starting from January 26 which falls on a Thursday. Taking a leave on Friday will ensure you have a long weekend. While February doe snot boasts of many holidays, then again March looks promising regarding long weekends. Holi which falls on March 13 (Monday) comes after the weekend. April begins with a weekend (April 1, Saturday) and also has festival in the mid-month period. Dr Ambedkar Jayanti, Good Friday and Vishu falls on April 14 which is a Friday promising another extended weekendd. May also comes with a little longer weekend with Maharashtra Day falling on Monday, May 1. The next holiday in May falls on May 10 with the celebration of Buddha Purnima.

Eid-ul–Fitr falls on June 26 as per the Indian calendar 2017, but can change as per the appearance of the moon. With Eid again apparantly falling on a Monday, an extended weekend is possible for the enthusiast.
