THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It was symbolic that Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac, who has been trying to deal with the harsh financial weather of the state, helped inaugurate the Green Planet at Magic Academy here on Monday.
At the event, he unveiled a magic show where first he shows a tree with all its leaves shed, which then all of a sudden sprouted tender leaves and grew to the size of shade-giving tree. The event was organised as part of the Haritha Keralam mission.
Expressing solidarity with the Mission, the artistes at the Magic Plant added the magic touch to the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Isaac said that it was the children who could contribute much to the success of the programme more than the grown-ups.
He said several such programmes will be held at the schools when the classes resume after Christmas vacation.
He commanded the social commitment shown by magician Gopinath Muthukad in promoting environment-related programmes.Mayor V.K.Prasanth handed over the Green planet flag. Councilor S Bindhu, Magic Academy Executive director Gopinath Muthukad, Director Chandrasenan Mithramala and Manager Jeen Joseph participated.
