YAMUNANAGAR: Two persons were killed in incidents in the district on Sunday. Vikash Dhandha (32) of Bhagwangarh village died after his car was hit by a tractor-trailer near Dhorang village on Yamunanagar-Kurukshetra road.

Vikash Dhandha (32) of Bhagwangarh village died after his car was hit by a tractor-trailer near Dhorang village on Yamunanagar-Kurukshetra road. The police have booked the driver of the tractor-trailer. Sundar Yadav of Bihar was electrocuted while travelling in a truck that came in contact with power lines near Manbharwala village on Jagadhri-Devdhar road. TNS

Child labourer rescued

The District Child Protection Unit rescued a child labourer from a house in Durga Nagar area of the city on Monday. Megha Singla, child protection officer, said the rescued juvenile was a resident of Shambhu village near Ambala city. She said the victim had been sent to the Child Protection Centre and the parents would be informed soon. OC

Stone laid

PWD Minister Rao Narbir Singh laid the foundation stone of a new building of the PWD Rest House here on Monday. The building would come up at a cost Rs 14.18 crore and the construction work would complete within 18 months.
