Afcon 2017: Bournemouth’s Afoebe Risks Ban for Turning Down DRC Call

Bournemouth FC forward Benik Afobe risks a ban from world governing body, prescription http://celebritydachshund.com/wp-admin/includes/post.php Fifa after turning down a call to play for DR Congo in the 2017 Afcon finals.

The youngster was initially summoned in Coach Florent Ibenge’s 31-man provisional squad but recent developments from DRC FA, http://dan-caragea.ro/wp-admin/includes/translation-install.php FECOFA, http://coloradofinearts.org/wp-includes/class-walker-page-dropdown.php suggest he has pulled out.

Recent media reports claim that the former England U21 has opted to remain and help the club

The 23-year old failed to make his much awaited debut in a world cup qualifier two months ago following a mix up where the FA sent his paperwork to the ‘wrong Congo’- Congo Brazzaville.

Afobe could face not less than a three weeks ban in case the Dr Congo FA decide to take the complaint to Fifa.

Coach Florentine Ibenge will also do without star striker, Yannick Bolasie who was ruled out due to a knee injury. However, he will have a host of stars to choose from including Villareal’s Cédric Bakambu and Dieumerci Mbokani who plays for EPL side Hull City.

DR Congo are in group C together with defending champions Ivory Coast, Morocco and Togo.
