Nearly 200 drunk people returning from Diu, Daman on new year day nabbed by Gujarat Police

Rajkot/Valsad: Gujarat police has nabbed at least 195 drunk people from Gir-Somnath, Valsad and Rajkot districts under prohibition law on the occasion of new year.
Most of those nabbed were caught from a check post close to union territory Diu, a favourite destination of liquor-loving party organizers.
DySP of Gir-Somnath K N Patel said that altogether 175 drunk people were nabbed near the check-post close to Diu. Eight vehicles carrying bottles of liquor have also been seized.
Police in Dungra police station area of Valsad district of South Gujarat nabbed 18 people and recovered some bottles of wine and hookah from their possession. PSI Dungra Solanki said that the arrests were made during raids.
The Rajkot police, meanwhile, nabbed 2 drunk persons in the city early morning.
