Free heart surgeries for children at GGH

Guntur General Hospital (GGH) will conduct free heart surgeries for children from New Year.

GUNTUR: Guntur General Hospital (GGH) will conduct free heart surgeries for children from New Year.
This was announced by Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas and Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao at a news conference here on Saturday. The Health Minister said the government was planning to conduct free heart surgeries for children in all the district headquarters hospitals in the State.  

Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale who agreed to perform pediatric cardiac surgeries at GGH, said one Assembly constituency would be selected to identify children suffering from heart ailments.  
Dr Gokhale has already performed 300 heart surgeries and two heart transplantations at GGH under the PPP mode with the collaboration of Sahrudaya Health, Medical and Educational Trust.

Siva Prasada Rao who urged the medical team to conduct screening camps in his Sattenapalli constituency under the heart care programme, promised to extend  all help to the GGH authorities through Kodela Satyanarayana Memorial Trust.

Director Medical Education N Subba Rao, Deputy Director K Babji and GGH Superintendent DS Raju Naidu were also present at the news  conference.
