The Yamunanagar district police have arrested six persons involved in 18 cases of loot and theft in various areas of the district. Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Kalia said today that a team of CIA-II had arrested Rashid alias Nagin and Mashroof, both residents of Badi Majra village of Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh.
He said they were produced in a local court and taken on police remand. They confessed they had looted Rs 6 lakh from employees of a ply board factory of Yamunanagar, said the SP.
Similarly, they looted Rs 2 lakh from a motorcyclist near Bhagwangarh village.
Kalia said the CIA-II team headed also arrested Rampal and Bhupinder, both residents of Ledi village, Vinod Kumar of Kot village and Sachin of Mamdiwala village. The accused confessed they had committed 15 thefts of transformers, he added. TNS
